We photograph many Weddings on the Beaches from St Pete beach to Clear Water Beach, Fl. It is a beautiful location for a perfect beach wedding. Tara and Jeremy were married at their church, then had their reception at the Marriott Clear Water Beach/ Sand Key. Right across the street from Sand Key Beach, we were able to dodge the storms as they came close by. It made for a dramatic background, and by adding our lighting, it was quite exciting. People sometimes ask us if our beach wedding photos are made to look like they because of “photo shop”. Nope, when you have lots of experience at the beach, you know how to make the images pop out and look great.
We really enjoyed spending the day with them. I love watching how each wedding day unfolds. Even though many things are the same, each wedding plays out at it’s own pace and has it’s own feel. What an exciting yet relaxed reception at the Marriott Clear Water Beach Resort. I think you will enjoy the images, I know Tara and Jeremy did.
Congrats, and sorry this is so late going up on the blog!

We often get to photograph destination weddings in St Pete and Tampa. It is a fun get away for family and friends, and a very romantic setting. Beach weddings are beautiful, romantic and special. But you do run a risk of uncontrollable weather. This last weeks wedding is a good example. The rain was cleared off and the temps finally began to rise, but that made for very thick sea fog. You have to see it to believe it. Patty and David were having their destination wedding at the Grand Plaza in St Pete Bch. If you would stand at the beach, you couldn’t see the hotel…or anything for that matter. Patty had a great outlook as she said “at least it’s not raining…”. When I set up some photographs from a distance, I could barely see them through the lens! Using a flash off camera helped to make them “pop” a bit, the rest was adding ample amount of contrast in photo shop. When you see the photograph of David’s emotion as he see’s his beautiful bride walk towards him. it looks like the image was over exposed. But really, you can’t see anything else because of the fog! We photograph weddings all up and down the Gulf Coast and are referred by many of the very best venues. Well I have rambled too long, so here are some of the photos.
Congrats Patty and David!

Jenny and Steve’s wedding was so much fun! Steve is serving in the Navy. In Hawaii no less. But their roots are the Bay area, so they chose Bon Appetit in Dunedin for their wedding and reception. It was quite a nice set up and beautiful sunset. Although when I “employed” some of the bridal party to help hold lights and what not, after a few minutes the cold winds off the water drove them inside. But Jenny’s brother was brave and man like, he stayed until I was finished. We photograph weddings in Dunedin and Clear water beach, St Pete beach and all over the place. So many great places for a Florida wedding. The DJ was Kevin Kramer, and he did a great job keeping guests and family dancing all night. Congrats to Jenny and Steve!

We enjoyed photographing Tracy and Rob’s engagement session on the beach. They will be getting married at the Fl Aquarium in May and it already sounds like it will be a good one! Some photographers have an “agenda” when they start out w/ engagement photos. Our only “agenda” is to make your photos look like…YOU! I spend time talking with our couples to get to know them better. And w/ a few trade secrets, I have them interacting w/ each other in no time. I also help w/ any posing. Then my favorite part is when it gets dark. That’s when I can create some photographs for our couples that very few could do. I had fun w/ Tracy and Rob, setting them up and I was far away w/ a long lens. I could capture them inter acting w/ each other and they didn’t know I was there (sort of). A lot of times the engagement sessions give us more time than the wedding day to get photos. So I want to be sure they are absolutely thrilled. If you ask them, they will tell you they are very happy with their enagement photos on the beach. And engagement sessions are included in our collections. Congrats Tracy and Rob!

Corinne and Matthew’s wedding was at the Ala carte pavillion in Tampa, Fl. The large open area with tall walls and open window light is beautiful for weddings. And we were able to capture many great images around the facility. Both Corinne and Matthew were wonderful to work with. They were quite excited for their wedding to start. DeNeal was able to photograph some touching moments while the girls were getting ready. We also used some “lighting magic” to create other photographs that they will love for many years to come. Our style is to stay out of the way so as to document the feelings and romance. Then also to create images that stand out, reflecting a blend of “old school” lighting and modern creative posing. We beleive that as wedding photographers in Tampa, this separates us from many of the “same old boring” photographers. Both Corinne and Matthew looked awesome and made it easy for us. Ala Carte did a great job as usual in the decor and floral arrangements. The “uplighting” on the walls gave us a perfect backdrop to work with. Congrats Guys! Glad you love you photos. Can’t wait to design your story book!

One of the most popular venues for a florida destination wedding is the Don Cesar resort in St Pete Beach. But even the “locals” put it high on their list too. A Historic hotel right on the beach, known as the “pink hotel”, it is a beautiful location for your wedding. As Tampa Bay area wedding photographers, we get to photograph weddings at the Don Cesar regularly. We are familiar with all of the best places for photos, even a few uncommon places too. If you are considering the Don Cesar for your wedding, you will want to contact us! We can send you several slideshows from beautiful weddings we were privileged to be a part of.

Liana and Kevin were married in the Florida Aquarium. The decor was beautiful. The flowers were by Geoffreys design studio. Bright orange for Fall and Halloween. DJ by CJ was keeping the party going. Very colorful and w/ the tank as the background it’s pretty cool. Not to mention taking photos w/ sharks as a backdrop. I can’t hardly wait to design their story books! Ashley Valentine is the coordinator there and everything was super smooth. We had a lot of fun taking photos of the bridal party and Liana and Kevin. A person could shoot for hours, but we had go keep everything on time so everyone could hit the dance floor. A very nice wedding and Liana and Kevin were a pleasure to work with. Congrats Guys!

Liana and Kevin will be married at the Florida Aquarium in Oct. Florida Aquarium weddings are very interesting and it is fun photographing brides and grooms with sharks behind them! Their engagement session was downtown Tampa and the evenings are getting cooler now. Prime wedding season is upon us! We photographed their friends wedding at the Florida Aquarium last year and they loved the photos and were glad to recommend us. Liana and Kevin wern’t too excited to have an engagement session, but I told them they would have fun and that they WOULD love their photos. Well, I was right, they did and do.
Here are a few from their session.

We will be photographing Corinne and Matt’s wedding at the Ala Carte Pavillion. It’s a great place for a wedding or event. But Corinne wanted to have photos on the beach for their engagement photos. It was very windy, high waves and tide. Several times we all would get hit w/ a rogue wave. But we survived and I was able to get some really nice images for them. They were even game to let me play a bit w/ the lighting. Very excited for their wedding in Nov.

I was able to photograph a wedding with a long time friend and photographer, Steve from Scottsdale AZ.
It was up in Cedar rapids, Iowa. I had just purchased the new radio controlled flashes from Canon (RT 600′S) and was excited to try them out. The hotel is the same one from the movie “Cedar rapids” and has many cool features for film makers and photographers. The bride, Amy and groom, Weston were open to let us try some fun things and I think everyone was worn out after a long and creative day. We rarely travel out of the state these days, but this wedding was one we wanted to shoot. We rented the Art Museum for some photos and a place for the formals. I didn’t get everything I wanted to, but we did get tons of amazing images. It helps that Amy and Weston are super good looking of course. We did the “first look” at the Art Museum. What you don’t see is all of the family and bridal party tucked away, watching every move.
Congrats to Amy and Weston!
